CHANGES TO THE AVAILABILITY OF ECONSULT FROM 28 MAY 2021
Over recent months, the open access of eConsult via our website, has significantly increased the demand on our services.
In order to maintain safe working practice, we are reducing the availability of eConsult on weekends and Bank holidays.
During these times patients will only be able to access the self-help information.
Please note, you can access 111 online or call 111 for urgent medical attention when the practice is closed.
We are conscious that some patients registered here at St Georges may be affected by current events in Afghanistan. St Georges Medical Practice is accredited by the Royal College of General Practitioners as one which specialises in the care of military veterans and their families. All the team have been trained in the care of military veterans and their families. If recent events have affected you and you wish to seek help, please come forward.
COVID RESTRICTION UPDATE
Throughout the pandemic we have strived to make general practice as safe as possible for all of our patients and staff. We will continue to do so going forward.
From 19th July nothing will change at any of the practices in Darlington – patients will still need to wear a mask, socially distance and use hand sanitiser in the surgery and staff will continue to wear PPE. We do understand that it can be frustrating but we know that when people come to us they are sick and vulnerable so we feel it would be wrong to not take these small precautions that will protect people.
In terms of opening up, as many of you know, we have never been shut and in fact have consulted with much higher numbers of patients then we did pre-covid (face to face, by phone, by e-consult and by video), not counting vaccinating the local adult population against covid-19.
Darlington GP Practices have come so far in trying to minimise the impact of covid and we are sure you understand that we need to keep the practices as safe for all patients as we can.

Darlington Primary Care Network
We are experiencing unprecedented demand at the moment. Our staff are doing their best. Please treat them with kindness and respect.
We are now operating a full telephone triage service.
You may find it more convenient to submit an E-consult by clicking HERE. You will receive a response from a Clinician within 48 hours.
If your problem is more urgent please contact the surgery and a telephone triage appointment will be arranged. If the Clinician feels you need to be seen, please be reassured that a face to face appointment will be made.
If you have a NEW persistent cough or a high temperature above 37.8 degrees centigrade and are worried you may have coronavirus please stay at home and self-isolate for 7 days.
If your symptoms worsen please see NHS website for more information www.nhs.co.uk/coronavirus or call 111
Sorry for any inconvenience and thank you for understanding.
Before you book an appointment, please check if your care could be navigated to an alternative service which may be more appropriate than an appointment with a GP. Please click here for more information and to access our e-consultations service and system online.
For online services access and registration please enquire at reception or click here for more information.
